siryl asked: How many followers do you have? I'm amazed to see that one of my submissions has nearly 200 notes.

Well, it was a very nice illustration so I’m sure it deserved that many notes! As for how many followers I have, I’d like to keep that a private matter :)

siryl asked: Do you get tired of people asking you questions about Mermaid reproductive organs?

Haha, nah not really. I understand that not everyone will see every one of my posts depending on the number of people they follow and when they log on, so it’s easy to miss already answered questions. But it would be nice if people looked through my “answered questions” link!

siryl asked: Do you have any advice on how to get noticed on Tumblr?

Ha! What a question. This is a tough one because I would say “be different” because that’s what I hoped for this blog. I never knew until I created it that there were quite a few other merfolk-related blogs and fans! But you see a lot of girly/fashion blogs getting noticed too, even if they have similar content.

Overall, I would say it’s a combination of having posts that appeal to a certain interest, not always reblogging, and luck. If someone with a lot of followers happens to reblog your post, it’s just your luck that, that specific post brought you some attention.

There’s probably some equally wonderful blogs the same theme of “tumblr famous” sites that have yet to be noticed!

waiahuakuamermaids asked: Are you aware of the book "Tales of the Mermaids of Waiahuakua?

Now I am! Just looked it up on Amazon.com:

“…a collection of Hawaiian creation and romantic legends with the interjection of the mermaid. Since the time of the great voyages from Tahiti to Hawaii, the mermaid has been a part of the legend and lore. There are many tales of Hawaiian Mermaids dating back as far as when the first voyagers from Kahiki ventured forth upon the waters of the Pacific to populate Hawaii…the land of green-backed and mottled seas…”

And it looks like your tumblr is dedicated to this book! Awesome! I will be checking you out this week :)

Thank you! I try to find only the most appealing images (at least in my eyes) :D. And that is a beautiful reincarnation wish! If such is real, I would dream the same <3

julsiefrances asked: i love the pictures of mermaids that have the top half of the mermaid like the paintings of women in the renaissance but have the bottom half of the mermaid very detailed in her scales and tail. they jsut make it seem so realistic.

AGREED! I try to find as much of it as I can. Renaissance, pre-raphaelite, and greek/roman mythology art are many of my favorite pieces that I find. Absolutely exquisite.

bodyt4gs asked: They mistook sea cows (manatee..i think that's how it spelled) as mermaids. (:

Someone knows their merfolk history! Yes you are correct that several sailors grew delirious while in the ocean and began seeing mirages, the manatee being one of the animals commonly mistaken! But we all know not all those sailors were dreamin ;)

willyoucomeincloser asked: ive always wondered. lol. how do mermaids have sex???

Great question! haha. Well, many turn into landwalkers when dry, so they have a little fun ashore during their visits ^_~. The rest engage in a magically passionate act under the sea with their mermates in which the methods cannot be revealed here ;)
